All courses and events will take place at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona.
The program is organized with the collaboration of the Institut d’Humanitats de Barcelona.
The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya has a department to assist students in locating housing during the term.

English language

The program is English-language based. All students and applicants are required to have a proficient knowledge of the language to properly follow and participate in all academics events. In some cases, student work may be based on other languages, if these are known to the program faculty.

Program faculty and guest professors

The Metropolis Program counts with a permanent body of faculty and Thesis tutors. In addition to these, each year several guest professors are invited to offer seminars and lectures. The seminars and lectures taught by visiting faculty members reflect their recent work as architects or scholars or their research themes that should have affinities with the questions addressed by the program.

Evaluation

First year students present their research thesis projec to tutors and other students in a session that takes place in June, as part of the thesis workshop. At the end of the second year, students present their thesis in a public graduation presentation that  includes faculty, tutors, guest professors and external critics. In order to obtain the credits that correspond to seminars and lectures, students develop the project proposed by each professor.

The Metropolis publication

The Program intends to periodically publish the contents of the program and a selection of the students’ research.

The first publication, Metropolis: Cities, Landscapes, Networks is being published by Editorial Gustavo Gili. It brings together texts of several lecturers and students that have been part of the Metropolis program during the 1997-2000 period.
