Rafael Gómez-Moriana

Rafael Gómez-Moriana is Adjunct Associate Professor and Barcelona Program Coordinator at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Environmental Design. He holds a professional B.Arch. degree from the University of Waterloo, a post-professional M.Arch. from the Berlage Institute in Amsterdam, and he has worked in the architectural offices of Dan S. Hanganu, Herman Hertzberger, and Blue Sky Architecture, among others. From 2003 to 2006, he directed Carleton University School of Architecture’s study-abroad program in Barcelona; from 1997 to 2002 he was Assistant Professor in the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Architecture, as well as Visiting Professor at Carleton University’s School of Architecture from 2000 to 2002. His writings and designs have been published in Lotus, Werk Bauen + Wohnen, Archis, Jornal Arquitectos, On Site Review and Canadian Architect, among others. He is co-editor of Berlage Cahiers #3 The New Private Realm, and is currently working on a book titled Everyday Camouflage in the City with funding from the Graham Foundation as well as working on a public space project for the Bat-Yam International Biennale of Landscape Urbanism.
