Alexander Pilis
Alexander Pilis is an un-disciplined and de-disciplined architectural investigator, working under the aegis of "Architecture Parallax", a research praxis that poses questions of how to think, articulate, and represent an ordering system that is not dependent upon a text-visual singularity.
Founded Archimemoria 1984, www.architecture-parallax.net in 1992 & www.theblindarchitect.com in 1999; non-profit organizations established to broaden the links between Architecture, Art, Science and Perception.
Pilis has taught for 15 years at University of Toronto as adjunct professor; departments of Architecture and Fine Arts and has been a guest critic & lecturer at various Universities in Europe, Brazil, Canada and USA.
Publications include; "São Paulo : Memory of Disruption", Pinacoteca do Estado - S.P., "São Paulo : Maddest About You", lulu.com, “The Blind Architect", lulu.com, Architecture SnackLunch", SNACC - Canada, "Architektur Parallaxe : Turm Tisch Ture", I.F.A., Stuttgart, "View - Bi Oculus", Akademie Schloss Solitude - Stuttgart, and numerous magazines with articles and special commissioned works.
He has exhibited his works individually and collectively in various countries and biennials.
Currently developing a project film "The Blind Architect : T.B.A." and a publication “Architecture Parallax : Appear – Disappear”, soon near your corner store.
