Masters and Graduate Program in Architecture and Urban Culture
METROPOLIS is a research-based postgraduate program organized by CCCB/ Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona and UPC/ Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Architects, artists, designers, and critics are invited to look into the present-day condition of cities, to stimulate and guide research and design work. METROPOLIS offers a space for advanced studies on the relationship between the social, cultural, and architectural conditions of cities.
Each student develops an individual two-year long project that is tutored by the program’s faculty, and benefits from seminars, lectures, visits, workshops, and the master class. Our graduates undertake further professional and academic responsibilities with the strengthening experience of having created and developed a research project that opens a new understanding of the complex forces that come together in our public spaces.
